During the month of May we took in NINETY NINE animals!!
RSPCA Milton Keynes and North Bucks Branch has never experienced a month like it in all its years.
Is it the cost of living crisis? Is it linked to excessive breeding during COVID?
Is it due to neutering unavailability during COVID?
Maybe we should blame BREXIT.
All we do know is we have never needed the public’s support quite so much.
We have been involved in a number of cases that involve simple neglect. One of the worst is five week old Inky and his siblings. They were dumped with severe eye infections. So bad that each of the three kittens had at least one eye that had ruptured. There is no reason any animal should be allowed to suffer such cruelty. Once again, RSPCA Milton Keynes and North Bucks branch are left to pick up the pieces.
Inky, Tux and Eclipse are just three from the 99 May arrivals, that also included many other kittens. As a result we are getting through a huge amount of kitten food.
We have also seen a huge rise in the number of dumped rabbits and guinea pigs.
